Secondhand smoke – smoke you don’t mean to breathe in

Non-smokers are constantly aware of secondhand smoke – smoke you don’t mean to breathe in, smoke that you inhale accidentally (called passive smoking) when you are near sources of tobacco smoke.

There is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke. In fact, non-smokers exposed to secondhand smoke absorb the same harmful chemicals as smokers. Studies show that even low levels of secondhand smoke exposure can be harmful causing numerous health problems including increasing your risk for lung disease, heart disease, heart attacks and stroke.

Secondhand smoke effects everyone and everything around you. Children, pregnant women, people with breathing issues, your family. It’s never too late to do something for yourself and those around you.
